Gosh! I'm freaking out!
The Bible says God doesn't give us a spirit of fear but a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. Oh! how fear have paralyzed so many people. Ever tried a roller-coaster before, but let me tell you one embarassing moment of mine, as you know, roller coaster comes in different sizes and shapes, so there was one time, where this newly built roller coaster has just been made available, by just looking at it has already freaked the he*l out of me, so there I was being literally dragged into it. I was freakingly scared. Throughout the ride, I dared not open up my eyes and 'enjoy' it, let alone open my mouth to scream. TALK ABOUT ROLLER-COASTER!
Likewise, whatever fear in public speaking or fear riding a roller coaster you might have, it COULD be overcome- by confronting it. Instead of letting your mind undergoing such traumas, CONFRONT IT. But how you say? Stop all your imaginations in your mind at once, look straight to the audience, be of courageous and stare back at your audience while all the time, taking deep slow breaths. Feel the fear, feel the terror to confront it.
Will you be afraid at the sound of gun shots? I do. But don't you think those soldiers at the battle line are afraid of them, worse still, they have to get over the seemingly uncertainties ahead of them that would rob them off their lives. Still, they push themselves ahead admist such fear and uncertainties? WHY? They are courageous enough. Period! They overcame fear, and likewise if public speaking doesn't involve the prospects of death, how much more you should have shown strong courageous.
