Friday's Presentation... Fuhh!!!

It is 7 am in the morning, and I am still thinking of what to talk about for this Friday's class presentation. Should I address something which sounds 'intelligent' so that my audience would perceive me as someone intelligent?; topics such as Mars exploration, latest scientific findings or the sort. Or something more general; cultures & places of interest. Then, what would my audience think of me? Come on, I am no sixth grader! What about talking from my own experience? Just exactly who is interested in grandmother's stories!!!

Always ask yourself this, 'What is the core message I want to convey to my audience?' and 'how do I want my audience to respond?' Anger? Resentment? Supportive? -- What role are you playing as a speaker? An environmentalist? be sure to receive strong support from your fellow environmentalists, and as for the developers, they will oppose you at all costs! Or are you playing the role as a developer? Whatsoever role you are playing as a pseaker, may it be challenging the national policies or advocating it, be sure to expect some forms of opposition from people, you may be surprised even your closest friend is against you. After all, you can't please everyone.

What message do I want to send across? perhaps that is the most crucial question you have got to first ask yourself before penning down your speech, not somekind of prepared speech so that you appear to be somewhat intelligent and full of bombastic words to enhance your credibility as a speaker.
