Oh dear! What am I supposed to talk about?

"Oh dear! what am I supposed to talk about? People will be bored to death upon listening to my speech, maybe I'm just plain boring!" Please-- if you have ever thought that way, STOP! Remember what Emerson said about learning?

'Everyone is superior in some ways, and in that you learn from them' Finding a topic to speak is just as easy as ABC, provided you will be willing to do the necessary preparation, after all Rome wasn't built in one day. I'm sure you understand so well, that the secret to success lies in the preparation beforehand. Finding a suitable topic to speak has never been easier, it's just a click away! If you have access to this page, you would have access to the Internet, but what makes your topic appeals to your audience?

If you have an answer to that question, it distinguishes you as a good speaker and a mere speaker. "So how do I make my topic appealing to my audience?" you asked. Well, just be yourself, you don't have to fake your ways through your speech by mimicking yourself as if you were Ronald Reagan or Winston Churchill, because you are not. Period.

Check in your local newspaper and see which topic is being hotly debated, what about the 'Comments & Opinions' column in major TV channel websites like the CNN or the CNBC or if there's any ABC, just give it a try. Have you ever considered checking relevant blogging site for instance, or forums/chat group that you join. Observe the conversations around you when you are in public places and listen for an interesting topic that they may be duscussing when you are with your friends. What about taking a simple survey/questionnaires (it doesn't has to be complicated). Until you feel like there's a need to address a particular issue, trust your gut and go for it.
